TechSupp Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 A delightful child has managed to turn off the File, Edit, etc menu in Word. How do I turn it on again? Googled it without much sucess so far...it is the end of the day! It's OK sods law, soon as I posted it found the toolbar at the side of the screen!
neon Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 go to view and then toolbars go into customize and in the commands tab you can modify them I think... delightful children
laserblazer Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 It can sometimes get moved virtually off the screen. Turn off all the other toolbars from View then check the corners of the screen.
mossj Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Easy! tell them that they got themselves into the mess, and now they can get themselves back out of it.
laserblazer Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Easy! tell them that they got themselves into the mess, and now they can get themselves back out of it. and the poor old NQT who is taking the lesson goes into melt-down. Sometimes it's kinder to fix it
mossj Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 and the poor old NQT who is taking the lesson goes into melt-down. Sometimes it's kinder to fix it Given that it was posted at 3.45 I doubt it was critical and given that the nature of the problem was entirley caused by the pupil in question, I think guiding him/her to the solution would of been better than just fixing it....
TechSupp Posted October 6, 2009 Author Posted October 6, 2009 Yes it was at 3:30 the problem arose, but as I say soon sorted it out. The problem was the child (primary) wanted to do a saveas but could not find the command to do it and they finish at 3:30! also the teacher was not an NQT...it was me ( yes I'm a teacher as well as techie )..so not a meltdown just something I needed to sort asap before I dashed off to a wasted 1.5 hours of my life, oops sorry I mean staff meeting! Thanks for all the replie anyway, only one was close, the toolbar had just been dragged on to the left hand side of the screen, not somewhere I would normally expect to see it
mossj Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Could you not have just used the save/save as shortcut keys? A workaround but would of reduced the urgency to sometime before his IT based lesson
maniac Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Its easy with mandatory profiles .... Log off, log on, sorted. My main reason for running them myself, the kids hate me for it!
