Uni students to get Windows 7 upgrade for just £30

Also the same offer in the US, for $30. Typical pricing disparity, but with prices that low it's hard to complain about being shafted over the lack of a real exchange rate.

One wonders what proof MS will require that you have a Win7 capable computer. Incidentally, that's how I got my copy of Office 11 Ultimate - through my Uni email address - can't knock it for initiative.

I think that's less of a legal eligibility criteria and more a practical one. I think it would be quite hard to upgrade to 7 on a machine that it doesn't run on.
