Trouble selecting a window/task

I've only been using 7 for a few days, but i've started to notice (and it's started to irritate me) that when I try and click on an application on the taskbar, it will give me a preview (most of the time) but when I click on it, the preview box disapears and i go back to the previous window! Am I doing it wrong or is it a bug? I'm running the RC released on 3rd Sep. I have the TechNet Plus version sitting on the server ready to go if needs be, but I just wondered what the cause was?

Just to confirm - You are clicking on the preview, not the taskbar again?
