Mandatory profiles+off line docs

Hi is it possible to have Mandatory profiles but with off line my documents? Reason is I need to set 90 netbooks up for teachers so if they want to they can use them off site. At the moment I don't have the storage to use full roaming profiles. We currently use folder re-direction for user home area's. Edited September 5, 2009 by nicholab

The only way you could do it is to store the mandatory profile locally. The actual offline files dont live in the profile. But you might have problems logging on offline, because profile last used would have been deleted from the documents and settings. The computer wont be able to go to the server and get the mandatory profile becuase it is working offline. If you store your mandatory profile on the C drive and setup the account to pickup the profile from the C drive that might work.

i have over 30 laptops doing just wat you want nicholab... it's easy..

 

make a teacher laptop ou put all the laptops in there..

make a GP and set the computers part not to remove profile

but to keep the local profiles.

I thought mandatory profiles would override this?

i edit the ntuser.man files

 

hkey users\username\software\microsoft\windows\explorer\user shell folders

 

on the mandatory profile to point it to a network location i dont see why you couldnt point it at c:\offline\%username% (makes it easier to backup than using docs and settings and means even if profiles are deleted on logout docs wont be)

i dont use mandatory profile there, i use roming profiles, but in the gpo its set not to delete profiles at logoff.. come to think of it thats default it has be on all the servers i have setup?
