I'm having a small issue with a set of 9 infant computers not talking to the domain, i dont think its a server problem, i think there a physical problem with the machines....

We had our infant suite extended and it works fine, its what im using now...but the classroom computers just arent talking. They all go back to the same switch. I tried to image one, it did the propellor thing, but then said that dhcp wasnt sending anything out...

The schools cabling system is a mess and i wouldnt know where to start...anybody got any tips so i can start trouble shooting?

Firstly have you tried the computers in a room where network def works? Such as your office. And if so and it doesn't work, have you tried reinstalling the lan drivers, we had a batch of stones which did that :(

Have you checked the obvious? - Link lights on the NICs and switches? Tested the cabling? Plugged a known good machine into the socket?

Checked all the obvious...

Well, my line manager and i have been around with laptop and none of the sockets were working in certain classrooms...so we rebooted our switch and things seem to be alive again socket wise...but i still cant log onto the machines....
