Win7 RTM Technet license?

I've done a fair bit of searching for this but can't find the answer...

 

Does anyone know what the license for the RTM download via Technet is....?

Is this a time-limited version or a basically a fully functional "freebie" for technet subscribers?

 

I can't see any reference of it being time limited, but also can't quite get my head around having the chance of downloading multiple versions / keys for the OS just because I'm a subscriber?!

AFAIK It's not time limited. So long as you continue your technet membership you can use any of the download product indefinitely on trial/evaluation basis.

you have access to everything on 10 licence and an unlimited time basis for as long as you have the technet account. If you unsubscribe to technet then your programs stay active until you install the next service pack (as is my understanding). We need the MS bod on here to clear this up.

Same as with most TechNet licenses, it's an unlimited evaluation version with 10 activations. It's not like a "freebie" though, it's not allowed to be used for production usage and is for evaluation and testing purposes only, e.g. test it's integration on your network, application compatibility etc.

Diello is correct. TechNet software doesn`t expire. You just lose access to the site to download new versions, but your license to the existing software does not terminate.

By the way, if you need to use Microsoft apps/OSs in a production environment you need the more expensive MSDN subscription.

Schools Agreement is the way forward for production side of things for the time being. The technet subscription is a useful extra though - if work didn't pay I probably would myself. Cheers
