Hey guys, I've just been trying to connect to the Extricom switch (EXSW 1200) through the console port. Does anyone have any documents for the switch with the correct settings?

Thanks,

If your after the Hyper Terminal setings I think they are ath same as Cisco ones.

Bits per sec : 9600

Data bits : 8

Parity : none

Stop bits : 1

Flow control : none

and just use a standerd null modem cable for console conection to pc.

There is little point connecting to the console as all configuration is done via the web interface.

If you do not know the IP address of the switch then the console will tell you,

Connection speed is

115200 bps

8 data bits

No parity

1 Stop bit

No Flow Control

if the passwords are at default the you will need to login as operator with a password of 12345

this should allow you to issue the ifconfig command, which will tell you the IP address of the switch which you can then access over https:// to configure the switch.

the ifconfig command shows several interfaces, only one should have an IP address, dependant on the firmware revision, older versions had the address against interface ipx0 newer releases address via interface br0.

Note: the 1200 has 2 ethernet interfaces, only the left hand one is used.

Hope this helps

Hey guys, after much of a headache, I've managed to find the IP address of the switch and connected to it using the Console. Now I'm back on using the web interface!

Thanks again for all your help!
