Amadeo Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Hi, everybody. I need your help. Today I was asked by girl to set her Internet. To set her internet I need to set proxy-server on my machine, but I don't know how... There is Ubuntu on my computer, and Windows XP on her... What I should do?
kmount Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Hi there, I answered your post on your other thread http://www.edugeek.net/forums/nix/39551-how-set-socks5.html
Amadeo Posted August 3, 2009 Author Posted August 3, 2009 I am no connecting from her... She is connecting from me... Where I should take own port?
kmount Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 So you want to share your internet with her from your ubuntu to her XP?
kmount Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 You could try a tutorial such as HOWTO: Internet sharing with Ubuntu (NAT Gateway) - Ubuntu Forums on the Ubuntu Forums but it's important to make sure you back up any files you change just incase it doesn't work. A router / switch would probably be easier...
Amadeo Posted August 3, 2009 Author Posted August 3, 2009 I have read it, but I don't understand any things. Should I create new connection?
apaton Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Could you write me step by step? Look at Firestarter, it may work for you. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Firestarter http://www.ubuntugeek.com/firestarter-firewall-for-your-ubuntu-desktop.htm
