Is anyone aware of any apps that will block calls from specific numbers?

 

Ideally I would like the caller to hear an engaged tone or some form of message.

 

Anything around?

the program is called callblocker but this requires root access or In every contact entry there's a checkbox that says "send calls to voicemail" it makes it so your phone doesn't ring or show the call, the missed call is in the log but no notification... and best yet to the person on the phone its as if you haven't done a thing... rings all the way to VM.

Android is a linux operating system, the 'administrator' account on unixes is called root. The root account on android is hidden. to unlock the root account there is a simple hack

you need to have rooted the android before installing callblocker

Thanks for the explanation and link, I was aware, of course, of what you said in the first paragraph but not that android phones had to be specifically unlocked.
