SpuffMonkey Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Anyone know if its possible to spool from a shared local printer onto the network? I was just wondering if I could monitor the throughput with PCounter without having to buy lots more licensing. Cheers
Geoff Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Not with windows no. You'd have to run the quota software on the machine that's controlling the printer.
Face-Man Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I've not used Pcounter but I know you can in Ranger Print Manger (gaia print charger) by setting the local printer up as a print device on the server and sending the jobs to that which are then monitored. Obviously the user could still change printers to the local one but I'm sure you can ristrict that.
