i'm looking for a graphics card to go in a HP DC5800 SFF

 

The graphics card needs to;

 

• Low Profile ( a given since it's going in a SFF Machine!)
  
• Dual Outputs - DVI & VGA or 2x VGA
  
• Run on a Machine that only has a 240watt PSU

not too sure you can get one that meets those requirements, you may need to up the PSU if possible. However I am happy to stand corrected!

it's a brand new HP machine .. and they don't do new PSU's ... although feel free to correct me!

SSF doesn't always mean low profile ... eg~: Shuttle Machines.

 

Anyway you can get a fair few GFx cards for that wattage, as my old shuttle SFF PC had a 240W PSU & ran a x800XT for a nice long time ...

 

I'm afraid I'm too lazy to google any examples.

As you can see the min spec for power states 300 Watt but to be honest I can see you having any problems as this card doesnt even have a fan so power consumption is at a minimum,

I was also looking at that card for one of our low-profile machines to run a monitor and projector off at the same time (as well as some low end nvidea cards), and bt business comes in at £20.43 excluding VAT for our account, with £3 delivery (same card it seems - linky)!

 

Getting a bit sick of having splitters that take up space and extra power sockets, so we may look down this route in the future!

yep same card for less money but dont see BT business (DABS) on here sponsoring the forum and believe that many members have had not only stock issues with dabs but lack of customer service to say the least,

That's a fair point mate (and it is the likes of you which helps keep the site running afterall), but we personally have only ever had fantastic service from dabs (I guess competancy of account managers can make or break a relationship)..

 

Still you should know me Simon.. we have spoken enough times to know that i'm a penny saver
