DanW Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 i'm looking for a graphics card to go in a HP DC5800 SFF The graphics card needs to; Low Profile ( a given since it's going in a SFF Machine!) Dual Outputs - DVI & VGA or 2x VGA Run on a Machine that only has a 240watt PSU Feel free to PM me with your quotes Dan
featured_spectre Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 not too sure you can get one that meets those requirements, you may need to up the PSU if possible. However I am happy to stand corrected!
DanW Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 it's a brand new HP machine .. and they don't do new PSU's ... although feel free to correct me!
Luke_T Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 SSF doesn't always mean low profile ... eg~: Shuttle Machines. Anyway you can get a fair few GFx cards for that wattage, as my old shuttle SFF PC had a 240W PSU & ran a x800XT for a nice long time ... I'm afraid I'm too lazy to google any examples.

Haptic Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Simon, sounds great ... how much power do they require? also what port combination is on them? Dan Hiya Dan, Details as below, Sapphire Radeon HD3450 256Mb Low profile PCI-Express graphics card £30.00+vat Free Delivery 256MB DDR2 64-bit memory interface Core/Memory Clock – 600 / 500 Low Profiile PCB Passive thermal solution PCI Express 2.0 x16 bus support DirectX 10.1 / Shader Model 4.1 support ATI CrossFireX multi-GPU support Unified Video Decoder (UVD) for Blu-ray and HD DVD at full HD 1080p 1 X VGA Out and 1 X DVI Out 300 Watt PSU Min Requirements, As you can see the min spec for power states 300 Watt but to be honest I can see you having any problems as this card doesnt even have a fan so power consumption is at a minimum, I hope that helps 1
Haptic Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Many thanks for the order fella, Glad I could help you out,
featured_spectre Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Some say he appears on high value stamps in Sweden, and that there’s an airport in Russia named after him... All we know is, his name is Simon, and he has done it again! 1
dgsmith Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I was also looking at that card for one of our low-profile machines to run a monitor and projector off at the same time (as well as some low end nvidea cards), and bt business comes in at £20.43 excluding VAT for our account, with £3 delivery (same card it seems - linky)! Getting a bit sick of having splitters that take up space and extra power sockets, so we may look down this route in the future!

Still you should know me Simon.. we have spoken enough times to know that i'm a penny saver Edited July 21, 2009 by dgsmith 1
matt40k Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Never knews BT business direct was Dabs... shows how much I use them.
DanW Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 my problem with DABS is that i can't get on the phone and shout at them when something goes wrong ... hence they will never get my service again ...
BatchFile Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 He's right you know! this from Wikipedia... In April 2006, it was announced that BT Group had purchased Dabs.com for an estimated £30m and that the business is now a wholly owned subsidiary of BT. [2] Dabs.com was also a former shirt sponsor of Fulham FC 1
