running SIMS DOCSTORAGE on different server

Hi Everyone

 

Does anyone have any idea if it is possible to run the SIMS.net Document Server on a different server that does not run the rest of SIMS?

As long as you configure the access levels correctly you can run the Docstorage on any machine you want to. There is no reason, exept for simplicity, why you can't setup SIMS to run with all parts on different servers

the setting is under Tools | Setups | Document Management Server

 

i've inadvertently run a test sims virtual machine with it's document server still on the live server and it worked fine with no problems, it just made a new folder with the name of the new server.
