setting up php/sql for a forum on 2008 x64

im trying to set up a forum (phpbb as i have an ldap module for it to pick up username/passwords and im used to it) on a 2k8 x64 box. I can usually get this working fine on 2003 x86 (though last time i tried i was having ldap issues) but i cant seem to get any php pag to display right on teh server im trying it on i either break iis completely so eevn the default page dosent work or the php page dosent. Ive looked at a few pages via google and tried what they suggest to no avail any ideas (its the only server in the school (unless i recomission the old 2k server it replaced as a 2003 box (upped domain level so i could rename server)

Most likely causes:
