Jed Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Hi Guys, I'm just installing FOG on an Ubuntu Desktop installation. I was wondering if I should be taking any security steps before joining the server to the network? Thanks, Jed
Batman Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Only thing I would say would be don't use your root mysql user account and don't use any blank passwords. Can't think of any other security issues.
Jed Posted June 24, 2009 Author Posted June 24, 2009 Thanks dude, I am more concerned about viruses at the moment as I am going to be using the proxy to install the software. We have quite a substantial firewall as per usual it isn't 100% secure. should I be thinking about something to combat this or am I being a little OTT? Just interested in what other people have done and what is the "norm" when doing something like this with a Linux machine. Thanks again! Jed
