Hi Guys,

I'm just installing FOG on an Ubuntu Desktop installation. I was wondering if I should be taking any security steps before joining the server to the network?

Thanks,

Jed

Only thing I would say would be don't use your root mysql user account and don't use any blank passwords. Can't think of any other security issues.

Thanks dude,

I am more concerned about viruses at the moment as I am going to be using the proxy to install the software.

We have quite a substantial firewall as per usual it isn't 100% secure. should I be thinking about something to combat this or am I being a little OTT?

Just interested in what other people have done and what is the "norm" when doing something like this with a Linux machine.

Thanks again!

Jed
