Polski Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Normally a backup slows down due to the tape “shoe shining”. Where a dirty tape has to make several passes to write data. Check the backup software to see if you have an increase in read / write errors. How old are the tapes? Have you cleaned the drive with a cleaning tape? What OS and what backup software / hardware are you using?
