Lickhill Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Hi, We inherited a set of Acer TravelMate 4200 Series Laptops (model no:BL50) from a closing school and I am having problems with the wireless adaptors (Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG). The wireless adaptors function perfectly except every time the computer is turned on the wireless adaptor has to be turned on manually. The problem with this is that the user then has to wait at the login screen for it to connect which is hard for young children! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, maybe some sort of boot script? Thanks, Ben
beeswax Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I've found that with some laptops the wireless is set to "OFF" in the bios. Don't know why, but have even had this happen with a set of 30 brand new laptops where 27 of them are fine and the others have to be set up via the bios.
Lickhill Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 I have had a look in the \Bios but can't see anythihng that relates to the wireless adaptor!
