Pashers Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Hi techies, Frog can't seem to download/upload gz files because the message comes up with 'banned extension' from the smoothwall. They want to download the update from schools.frogtrade.com. I must admit, I'm new with the smoothwall environment and I've added the URL in the Custom Allowed Content section of our policies. However, this didn't work. Any help be appreciated Thanks
tom_newton Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Adding the domain to custom allowed is probably wise - custom allowed overrides all other rules. If that's not working (have you hit soft restart, aka apply changes in newer s/w) then give support a tinkle, I bet it is something simple.
tom_newton Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 PS. if you want to unblock archives globally, it is in the "file security" policy... but generally, i'd advise against that. 1
Pashers Posted May 15, 2009 Author Posted May 15, 2009 So far I've got the following settings: In the Filtering - Filters section File extension and MIME type categories Archives (unchecked). *Note this will be checked later when I'm confident it's working* filter - user defined categories Domains and URLs: schools.frogtrade.com Am I missing something somewhere? Thanks again
Pashers Posted May 15, 2009 Author Posted May 15, 2009 I do apologise, apprently it does work (my line manager didn't inform me it worked). Thanks for your help
