Uraken Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 currently mac but i can hold down the alt key at start up to make a choice between xp or mac..
pscott Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Have you done the manual installation? Open Terminal and enter the following commands: cd /efi/refit ./enable.sh I have had to do this everytime, and after the second restart it has always worked Have you change any settings in the conf file? 1
Uraken Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 i had tried the manual install yes to no availl. However using your syntax did work Also i had not changed anything in the conf file. Can i assume that this is where the timeout settings are kept? as i would like the machine to stay at this screen until student selects an option. Also you say you have to do this every time would cd /efi/refit ./enable-always.sh resolve that? thanks
pscott Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I just meant each time I installed it The refit.conf file contains all the settings you need. including disabling boot from external drives etc...
Uraken Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 ah yes sorry that makes sense now. thanks to all of you for your help this afternoon. uraken
