steve_nfi Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Hi all I keep getting an error every time I try to print. 'An unhandled Win32 exception occurred in spoolsv.exe{4056}' 'An unhandled Win32 exception occurred in spoolsv.exe{264}' 'An unhandled Win32 exception occurred in spoolsv.exe{3544}' There has probaly been some others but these are the most recent. After this I don't see a printer. I find that the local print spooler has normally stopped. I can restart it and see the printers again but as soon as I try to print I get one of these errors. The printer is network attached and anyone else can print to them. I have tried cleaning the registry and thought that had cleared the problem but it's come back. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, it's driving me nuts.
contink Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Most likely it's a crap driver causing the problems... If you grab the kyocera printer driver cleaner that will clear up ALL references to your printer driver(s) and allow you to reinstall them fresh... I don't have the link for the kyocera util but a little hunting around should locate it.
diggory Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Might be worth cleaning out any old .spl files that might be hiding in your spool folder. (Usually C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\PRINTERS)
