Hello everyone,

the pupils at the school have taken it upon themselved to press Alt-Shift + Print screen to invert all the colours on the log on screen and other areas :evil_twisted:

While logged in and using programs there is no problem.

Pressing the same buttons again will not reverse the colours. Not helpful when your image will be spreading the same problem to all the computers you reimage!

Any ideas guys?

I have looked into regedit. HKEY_USERS - .DEFAULT - Control Panel - Colours. Where you can change colours of certain areas (IE Log on background). Although this will be a long and grueling process when you have to find the right colour codes, find the right parts to the change on the computer to make the colour right again, and then doing it to 100s of PCs in the school! :censored::doh::sick:

Many thanks

You should be able to turn off the accessibility scheme just by pressing the buttons again - certainly works here.

You don't need to worry about getting the "right" values for the colour codes - just delete the whole key, reboot and Windows will put back the defaults

I won't be able use the code as some computers and students need to use hi contrast and sticky keys anyway.

I have how ever found out how to make the colours default again.

Start

Run

Regedit

Ok

HKEY_USERS

.DEFAULT

Control Panel

Colours

Deleting the colour code will set them back to their default again. So thats the colour problem solved. Although there still is the problem that the log on screen is still not set for windows standard. Does anyone know where I can find this so I can change it to default as well?

Thanks

if all else fails, remap the print screen key in registry.

You can use a free app like Sharpkeys if you dont want to look up keycodes and do the regedit yourself.
