Joomla Template Newbie

I've just downloaded a template I would like but after applying the page gives lots of errors (see image).

Can't seem to find in the admin section how to turn off the slide show. Any ideas how to remove the Chinese writing?

It'll be you module postions you need to look at.....disable the ones you don't need also think there is a permissions problem aswell! search on here for permissions in joomla
