Geocities closeses

[User_Error]

One of my primary schools' web hoster is shutting now ive backed up all the data but the head wants a new system with an easy wizard interface like geocities...... for free

 

Does anybody know anywhere.

you mean a system where they can edit the content without having to know HTML??

 

if thats the case any host with PHP/MySQL will do and you can just install a CMS.

 

the free part might be a problem. most free hosts tend to put allot of ads over the top of the site

 

Do they not get free hosting from the LEA? the primary schools i look after get free hosting from the local LEA that they can run a CMS on

Thats the theory, the heads in some of my other schools use the school trends service but it costs 500 quid

 

hosting is not an issue as the county provide that and an address but the head is html illiterate and wants a wizard i will hold out till he takes the school trends service as its the better option.

I think with something like Adobe Contributor it offers an easy way (very easy) for people to update (sections if you want, so they can't balls things up) of a website.

 

Of course, you'll have to pay for the software, but I'm sure you can get a 30 trial to test it.
