Hi,

Tried searching on here but no found the right answers.

Just installed Joomla to use as an intranet and would like the BBC Education news feed on the main page.

How do I do it ? !

I've tried the news feed setup but using the bbc url it comes up with an error saying it can't find ti feed.

Whats the difference between the url in the news feed manager and the url in Feed display in Modules?

Thanks

Ok.

I've downloaded magpieRSS module and inserted the whole folder into the Joomla Module directory.

I've created a new module based on the magpierss but it doesn't display on any template. Do we have to add it to anywhere else?

Thanks

Did you install the module from the backend of Joomla?

No, just copied and pasted the file into the modules folder.

Just looked at the install on the joomla back end, what package file am I looking for? The files in the main folder are php and xml

You usually upload the zipped folder (the one with the XML in) and install. Go into the backend of Joomla and click on the install under one of the menus, can't remember which one and i haven't got access to our site at the moment.

find the zipped file and click upload and install. All being well it should install the module/component using the XML file inside.

Still struggling with this. Found out the bbc news feed is XML rather than CSS so the built in reader struggles.

Anyone know of an XML reader for Joomla thats simple to use?
