We have an odd problem that is appearing for various users. When a pupil is working on a Terminal Services box (2k3 server, with Citrix XenApp 5) and saves their Word document, and then re-opens it, it is fine.

When a teacher or myself open that document from a non-terminal services box (so a windows xp box), varying amounts of the text are now utilising the Greek alphabet, rather than the normal alphabet...

I have attached a screenshot of the result I see. But the same thing will be normal on the TS machine.

Any ideas? I don't even know what I could search for to look for similar issues...

Is it constently doing it?

i.e same users saves same thing again and same person tries to open it will it do it? Also how evil are you kids? Sure they just not writing in the greek alphabet, and accusing the esrver of braking it?

This is the first time it's happened, it appears to happen on any account when moving between terminal services and a non-terminal services machine. It only seems to affect some pupils, and not all (so far).

And the kids aren't very old, so they don't have a massive amount of ICT knowledge, so aren't likely to cause it.

I have verified it doing it myself. Ie. Went, looked at the file in the room and it is fine, then went into the room next door and opened it and it's half greek...
