Not suitable for schools using AD, but good for primarys who need easy tools for staff to use in a hurry I think. No word on it n pricing yet, but if they start to do a bundle with NSM then it may make a decent one-stop shop.

If it works that is.

Hmmm. Not that I'm at all in the business of bashing 3rd party security products, but... Wouldn't the shared computer toolkit do a similar job?

Yeah it looks like most of it could be covered by amixture GPO, SCT and NTFS permissions.

 

Any fool can stop installation/excecution of abitrary programs or the deletion of files but where it does have an edge is preventing the creation of certain file types. Maybe this could be done by very geeky shell extension hacks but preventing copying of files is less easy. NTFS doesn't have ACLs for that.

 

Also the claim to be able to stop the use of USB drives. I think there was thread a while back that said this wasn't so easy to do. So if that is something really important to you then the software might be just the ticket.
