dagza Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 I have been moving all of my photos from my PC into iPhoto and notice that it shows albums called 2006, 05, 04, 03 and early photos inside of library. In the iphoto data folder in finder I can also see folders for 2002 down to 97. How can I show the other year folders in the library section? I know I could create smart folders but they would not appear under library with the existing ones. It's the latest iPhoto BTW. Hope that makes sense. Darren
GrumbleDook Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 One suggestion is to use smart-folders instead ... not perfect but it does seem to be a limitation. Have you asked on the Apple Discussion Boards? They can come up with some innovative answers.
HodgeHi Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Where is this data folder? What is the direct path?
dagza Posted June 15, 2006 Author Posted June 15, 2006 I don't know exactly how to write this in mac speak but the path is /users/me/pictures/iPhoto Library/Data and in there are the folders 1997 through to 2006. I seem to remember seeing some support forums on the apple site a while ago. I will ask there if nobody here knows. Thanks Darren
HodgeHi Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Oops. I didn't have any pictures imported. I have looked into mine and only have folders 2005 and 2006, which is what the pictures are. did you have any pictures imported that are stamped with that year? Seems to build the folder structure based on whats imported. If you can work out the albumdata xml file, seems to be where the info is stored with regards to the library. The roll information and album name is in there.
