I have some media computers which are connected to the Backbone switch directly over a Gig connection (They have Gig NICs installed). A NAS is also connected directly to this same switch and so would expect some decent transfer speeds when uploading/retrieving which is the case and found that copy speeds increase by a factor of 3 when using a gig link over 100MB so looks to be behaving as expected however i copied over Two different sized avi files from the computer i'm testing; One about 300MB and the other around 2GB. The 300MB file copied over in 7 seconds every time tested but the 2GB file started off fine, showing that it estimates 35 seconds which looks about right but 10 seconds into the process it stalls and the estimated copy time starts climbing to 45 minutes. It's obvious the file size is the problem but how do i get round this?
