Mandy Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 I've never heard this before - it cracked me up - so true!! http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:RRjIIWXSxukvAM:http://www.ugandahighcommission.co.uk/images/British-flag.png Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer then on the way back home grab an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab. To sit on a Swedish sofa and watch USA shows on a Japanese TV and most of all being suspicious of anything foreign. Oh and ... only in Britain can you get a pizza to your home faster than an ambulance. Only in Britain do banks leave both doors open and chain pens to the counter. Also supermarkets make sick people walk to the back of the shop for their prescriptions whilst healthy people get their fags at the front. We might be British but by god we are funny!

torledo Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 the reason they chain pens to the table is 'cos they want you to lose 4 places in the queue as you fill out the blasted withdrawal slip.
Michael Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 And why is it we can "go for a Chinese" or "go for an Indian" which have a ring to them, but "going for an English" Just doesn't sound right does it? I especially like this line: Also supermarkets make sick people walk to the back of the shop for their prescriptions whilst healthy people get their fags at the front. Made me chuckle, but it's so true!
