reggiep Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Does anyone use http://www.dream-hosting.co.uk to host their website? Our site http://www.prentonhigh.wirral.sch.uk and http://www.dream-hosting.co.uk are timing out and I wondered if anyone else is having the same problem. Ta
Hightower Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Well, I don't use dream hosting but I can confirm it's timing out for me aswell - so it's not just a glitch at your end.
reggiep Posted March 11, 2009 Author Posted March 11, 2009 Bugger, I was hoping for the glitch our end. Enter panic mode now as it hosts our helpdesk as well.
kmount Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Might be worth considering hosting your helpdesk internally; unless this is a freak occurrence of course.
reggiep Posted March 11, 2009 Author Posted March 11, 2009 Sometimes thing are much clearer after a disaster! I'd like to host our whole site internally and probably will once I have a spare server
Hightower Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Might be worth considering hosting your helpdesk internally; unless this is a freak occurrence of course. We host ours externally too, but it would be nice to have it internally for a) better speeds and more stability (more a problem with internet connection than hosting) and b) to be able to use LDAP auth.
kmount Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 No harm in having it either way with back ups pushed/pulled to another location. I too would rather it internally as the vast majority of the time I'd imagine its used onsite.
linkazoid Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Dream Hosting is down... another School that are hosted on it are also down. Michael
kmount Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Can't comment beyond speculation but it seems a little odd that for their own mail provision they are using Google Apps.
