Printer will only print one copy...

I've got a printer that - even when multiple copies are selected, will only print one. Nice paper-saving device, although staff are moaning at me about it (clearly they are too lazy to click 'print' 10 times).

 

The printer is an HP 1320n.

 

We use Print Manager Plus - the person in question is an 'unrestricted' user, so no problems there.

 

I've looked at the Printing defaults on the printer itself - and can't see anything untoward or different to our other 1320n's.

 

Any ideas?

I have the exact same problem with that printer, I've not found a solution for it yet. I just tell the students/staff to click the button multiple times. I was thinking it might be (the ever so wonderful 8O) RM interferring or something.

This was asked a while ago, I've had this same problem and posted a response, will see if I can track it down.

 

Basically I found it to be related to the 'Enable Advanced Printing Features' check box.

We've had this problem on a similar model of HP printer.

 

Our techie sorted it out by removing all printer drivers installed on the computer (from server properties, drivers tab in "Printers and Faxes") then installing the latest one for that printer from HP.

Hmmm. I wonder why we only see it on one of the printers - we have a few dotted around the school...

 

I've enabled the 'advanced printing features' - will see if that resolves it.... and will post if I do manage to work out a resolution!

 

I did search first, but couldn't find anything related.

 

Mind you, I may have mispelled/mistyped, etc.... it's cotton-wool-head day here...

I think we solved this problem by reverting back to PCL 5 drivers on all HP printers. Seemed to fix tons of minor issues with printing.

We had a problem on 4250s whch were originally installed using the PCL 6 drivers. Told it to use PCL5e instead and all was fine. Give it a go

Yes, I've generally found PCL5e drivers to be vastly more reliable regardless of manufacturer.

I don't know if people are having this problem still but having been forced to use PCL 6 drivers I have found that the Nov 2007 (61.063.461.42) drivers seem to have fixed this quirk. This is only tentative though as I have tried it on one machine only and an admin account but it is looking good.
