On RM Community Connect 3 Standard UserTypes are unable to run Java Applets - this can be a problem with TeachICT and SamLearning.

The resolution to which for us has been to move students on to an Advanced UserType - this also unlocks additional features which ideally we wouldn't like them to have.

After a little bit of work we've come up with a Standard UserType with Macros which addresses the Java issue without unlocking all the additionals that the Advanced UserType does.

Yes, we too copied and modified the standard and staff usertypes to refine it to exactly what we wanted.

Good of you to share your work though.
