shafia2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Can anyone help me please we recently bought some laptops operting with windows Vista they are causing lots of problems. they are connecting to our domain but when i log on it keeps say that the roaminf profile was not synchonised and it actomatically logs off.

That is what we do, just to keep a certain consitency in our computer park, and saves us a lot of hassle, specially in a networked community/school. AngryTechnician Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Can you give a bit more information about how your domain is set up, i.e. are you using mandatory profiles, using folder redirection, etc? Also, are there any specific error codes being logged in the Event Viewer of the Vista machines?
ddcmp Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 i had the same probem in one of my schools, basically after a search of the web and trying to find out what would exactly fix it and trying different ways i did the folllowing: stopped roaming profiles for the specific user, deleted all folders under c:\users\ and then went into the registry and deleted all keys relating to all the users under HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\CURRENTVERSION\PROFILELIST - i think it was that key. then i popped the roaming profile back into AD, got the user to log on and log off so it created a new profile and it worked - took me 2 visits to figure it out im sure theres probly an easier way but this was ages ago and the school was getting rather annoyed.
