Hi All,

I want to setup and install a suitable maintenance plan for Exchange 2007. As 2007 database are quite large currently 44Gb, i was wondering the best course to follow. I have trialed Veritas V12 and Microsoft's DMP.

Have you any ideas?

I use EMC Retrospect - EMC Retrospect - with the Exchange plug-in and back up using the 'Proactive' backup which simply backs up files continuously when it detects a change in users files (or new mail etc). It's a quite fantastic feature which ensures your backups are always up to date, and removes the need for scheduling. I still do a weekly bakup to tape to take away, but otherwise my backups are spread between a NAS for the proactive backups (they also restore files in record time this way) and tape for longer term and scheduled backups.

I used to just use Symantec Backup Exec and also use the Database Copy feaure in Exchange 2k7, it used to replicate the .edb to another server location.

Worked great!
