EdTheGreek Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I have just downloaded and installed EduSweep v2.0.0.1165. When I click on the Software Update button I get an error saying "Unable to contact the update server. Detail: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized." If I try to access the programversion.xml update file via Internet Explorer then I get a connect to Durham University login box asking me for a username and password. Is this a problem? I was trying to update because I was testing a scan I had created to search for Excel Flash Games. I tested the scan on a folder that I knew had several excel flash games in but none were found. Thanks for any help!
bizzel Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I'll look into this. I thought the Durham server was accessible from outside of the university network. If it's not I'll have to change the URL! Any chance you can send me the flash games, by the way? The signatures are still early stage and any new files to analyse would be great. There's a contact box and upload button at Contact - Paul Beesley if you get a chance. Thanks
bizzel Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 (edited) Oh, by the way. For a quick workaround, look in the program folder and there'll be a file called EduSweep 2.exe.config. It's an XML file, you can open it up and look at the contents of the RepositoryPath tag. Cut out the "/local/" from the URL so you have: http://www.dur.ac.uk/paul.beesley/mirror/edusweep2/updates And that should sort it. This is now fixed for 2.1 which is due in a week or two. EdTheGreek Posted February 10, 2009 Author Posted February 10, 2009 Thanks, that change to the config file worked but it is still not detecting the excel flash games. I will send you the games via your website.
bizzel Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Thanks! New signatures have been pushed out that should pick up these files and any slight modifications of them.
EdTheGreek Posted February 11, 2009 Author Posted February 11, 2009 Thanks, I have updated again today and it is now detecting those games. If I find any more would you like me to send them to you?
