RabbieBurns Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 any Londoners able to help with the best way to get from heathrow to Victoria after the trains stop at midnight on a Sunday? Are there buses or is a taxi the only option?
eduabncs Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Yup..after midnight it's either a Private hire,Taxi, Coach or a stay at an airport hotel. National Express coaches the quickest and cheapest to Victoria at that time of night. And have coaches throughout the night so you shouldn't be waiting in the Heathrow coach station for long! National Express Coaches
RabbieBurns Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 thanks, but from what i can see the first bus isn't till 5am tomorrow.. I think theres an N9 night bus that goes via hammersmith to Aldwych. Are either of them close to Victoria?
mrcrazy04 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Aldwych is about 2 miles from Victoria - it's at the end of the Strand and nearer to Charing Cross.
srochford Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Take the N9 from Heathrow to Hyde Park Corner and then the N8, N16, N38, N73 etc from there to Victoria. The N9 runs every 20 minutes; the buses from Hyde Park Corner are very frequent. Journey should be about 60-70 minutes. If you don't have an Oyster card then it will be 2 x £2 cash fares or you might be able to get a bus pass at Heathrow for £3.50 Answers to any questions about travel in London can generally be found on the TfL website - Journey Planner is absolutely superb and should be copied by all other public transport organisations!
RabbieBurns Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 They ended up just getting off the N9 at Harrods and walked the rest. Thanks for all the replies, that tfl site is good.
