Printing Problems

Morning all!

 

Having a bit of a weird issue in one of our mac suites.

 

We've got a AirPort Extreme Basestation in the room with a printer attached via usb (HP Colour 1280). The 20 mac mini's in the room connect to this printer. Its been that way since September.

 

Suddenly users couldn't print to this printer. Looking at the printer settings in System Preferences its got the wrong driver on each computer:confused:

 

So log on remotely to each as admin and changed the driver, print a test page - fine, but as pupil they can see the printer but not the right driver and it won't print. Log in as admin is the wrong driver again!

 

Last time we had a similar issue when the users couldn't print, I found that it was the wireless basestation firmware that needed upgrading, which I have done. Also run software update to check for new HP drivers. But still no luck.

 

Any ideas?

Have you tried simply re-adding the printer?

We had this problem, ish, and we removed the printer, re-installed the driver and re-added the printer and it was fine (and still is).
