CHR1S Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 What I am trying to do is create a desktop background with clickable links to documents etc have messages (ie remember to lock your pc). This part is done but now I need to find a way of scaleing the html to fit all the different resolutions we have in the school. Is there a simple way to do this or an alternative (similar to BGinfo) that can add links etc and make the desktop interactive? Thanks Chris
FN-GM Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I dont think it is possible, i couldn't find a way. Z
linkazoid Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I was asked to look into this, last week.. Could you please tell me what you've done so far to get to the stage your at?
CHR1S Posted January 20, 2009 Author Posted January 20, 2009 I have created a basic html page in dreamweaver, couple of tables and a picture. I stripped out the absolute references and aligned everything right and its now scaleing better. Its no perfect solution but it seems to do the job. Altho 800x600 cant handle it, 1024x768 and up is fine. 1
linkazoid Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Did you have to modify any GPO's? Active desktop? Currently we have a .bmp set as the wallpaper, but would like to have this. Can students close the active desktop? Thanks Mike
CHR1S Posted January 21, 2009 Author Posted January 21, 2009 Its the same GPO that sets the wallpaper, you can use html aswel just point it at the file in the same way as a bmp (Active Desktop Wallpaper). Users > Admin Templates > Desktop > Active Desktop Just configure all the security and settings in that section to prevent changes etc.
linkazoid Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Thanks CHR1S, will have a look when I get 2 ticks. Mike
