educateer Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 We are using Flash and Dreamweaver 8 on our networked Macs using OS X 10.5.6 Whenever our students try a file operation (e.g. open a file) they get the spinning beachball for approx. 3 minutes. This happens pretty much every time and is repeatable. Does anyone have any ideas why it is doing this and a possible solution? Thanks Andrew
Ulkary Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Assuming that the students are opening the files from a network drive it sounds like it might be a network traffic issue, we had a similar issue when running iMac lab off an airport (bad idea ). So it might be that the files are very large or there are many users at the same time, if that turns out to be the case the solution is to increase network bandwidth or save the files local to the HDD or student USB drives. I Hope This Helps.
