Operating system not found.

Hi everyone. i have a sony vaio and recently i kept getting operating system not found. i replaced the HDD and installed Vista and all was well for a couple of weeks. now it does the same and keep getting operating system not found.

i check the bios and no HDD is detected, then restart and it will be there.

so in brief sometimes you have to restart it 3 or 4 times before the hard drive is detected and it works. other times no matter how many times you restart it i get operating system not found.

any ideas, please help.

This sounds like it's a bios bug. Update your bios?

Or a dodgy HD controller. I'd get in touch with Sony and get them to fix it.
