Anyone else having problems with AVG Network Edition?

We use AVG 8.0 Network Edition on all our workstations, and as of the latest update (8.0.229, automatically installed via our AVG Admin server yesterday), our Windows XP machines have been stalling at "Applying computer settings" at system boot. The system is responsive, but will not progress past this point no matter how long it is left (we left one for a couple of hours as a test).

 

Windows Vista is not affected.

 

I'm rapidly narrowing the problem down and will post more in a bit, but I'm wondering if anyone else is having similar issues or whether it's specific to us, and therefore down to something we've done.
