Ranger Remote Control Alternatives

I don't know if any of you have had a play but RRC is a tool whereby you can lock the suites machines, send the machines to certain URLS or do snazzy things like display the teacher machines info on the suite machines (nice)

 

Some of the teachers in my schools have expressed an interest but dont really want to fork out over £600 for the privileged.

 

Does anyone know of any alternatives you can find online? Free being the best price but cheap would also be good.

RRC is simply a rebranded version of NetSupport School who are the OEM.

 

Ranger have integrated the RRC into their Ranger Console so if you switch to a different product you will loose the console integration features but thats all.

Most admins can easily live with that.

 

Free.. there are a few built around the open source versions of VNC however these do not have the advanced features that you will see in the commercial products.

You get what you pay for.

 

About the most common competetor I come accross is AB Tutor Control this seems to be popular because it is licensed by the number of tutors not clients which seems to be a much more accepted solution for school admins and budgets.
