Anyone used FAN? (Nagios/CentOS)

It was put to me that we might think to play with Nagios here...Ubuntu was suggested. I'm up for that..but then I ran across FAN 1.1...CentOS/Nagio and tools in one prebuilt disk...

Anyone tried it? I think I'm going to to stick it on a P3 Dell and see what it's like...

Anyone tried it?

No, but I probably should - our CentOS virtual machine hosts and backup machine are currently monitored with my own script, which reports back simple RAID status and Xen state. I'd like to get something more comprehensive / standard in place, and I need to sort out our secondary backup machine properly, and FAN sounds like it might be just the ticket. Thanks!

No prob...ours is up and running now...quite nice and simple!

Only got it doing ping checks..heh..and I can't seem to persuade it to scan by hostname as opposed to IP..:)
