ajames Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Hoping Someone Can help me out with exchange I am running an old HP 2003 server with exchange 2003, i have a new server and want to replace the old server. Does anyone have an idiots step by step guide to doing this. Cheers
Dos_Box Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Why not transition to Exchange 2007? It does not cost a lot and will provide a better service than your old Exchange 2003 box. It also means that because you have to transition to 2007 (no upgrade route) you will be putting it on the best platform to begin with.
ajames Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 That was my original plan, however the old exchange has been upgraded from 2000 in the past and not been completed correctley, therefor the active directory still thinks its 2000 and wont allow me to upgrade to 2007 until its been upgraded to 2003. So this is a kind of medium step.
Nick_Parker Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I'm in the process of moving to a new 2007 Exchange Server. What I've done so far is install the new server and add it to the domain, then I followed these steps to install Exchange: How to Install Exchange 2007 in an Existing Exchange Server 2003 Organization I don't know if this will help you at all? -Sorry, It took me a while to reply so I missed your comments inbetween regarding Exchange 2000/2003-
