Disabling roaming profiles

How easy is it to remove roaming profiles from a server 2003 network?

change the account settings and remove the profile setting. This will then leave a copy of the profile on the server and a copy of the profile on the local machine

It depends what you want to end up with, but the actual job is very easy.. just remove the profile path from all the accounts and they will get local profiles instead.

Thanks, that's sorted it. The HT has been complaining about how slow his computer is but never lets me near it for long enough to do anything constructive (or destructive). Lord knows what he's got on it?

I would have a look at his network profile and check what size it is. I found one of my users had 5gb of music on his after he spent a whole day copying off a hdd.

You're probably right but getting access is difficult. I'm sure all of the stuff is school related but he likes taking pictures.

we have it so that the server synchronises the files to the laptop, that way if they needs to log in elsewhere it will synchronise without a problem and they end up with a small roaming profile.

None of the admin staff log in elsewhere apart from SIMS so I will probably disable rprof on all of them.
