Dunkx Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Hey guys, I am building our second Vista image ATM. One problem i would like to resolve is to remove the Command bar in windows explorer. Is there any way to disable this? If not does anybody know how to remove icons form the Command bar while in "my computer". I have found a way to add buttons in using information on this page AeroXperience Blog Archive Adding custom buttons to the Explorer command bar but nothing about removing buttons or removing the bar completely. Thanks, Dunkx
mac_shinobi Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 not sure if this is just for IE7 or explorer as well : How to remove the Command Bar in Internet Explorer 7 but it may be worth while checking out the group policy settings on windows vista either local group policy or domain policy to see if there is anything that will disable it.
Dunkx Posted December 18, 2008 Author Posted December 18, 2008 Thanks, the IE setting is a little different it removes the command bar in IE7. i thought it might do both (windows & internet Explorer) but no luck, it just removes the home and print etc... from under the search box. I have had a hunt in the GP but cant find much. MS ballsed up this one i think. Thanks for your ideas, Dunkx
