cheredenine Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 I've had a quote back from a supplier with an Acer Veriton L410 PC, all-in-one stand and 17" monitor suggested as a cheaper alternative to a Dell USFF PC. Does anyone have any comments on this model or ones like it? Build quality, reliability, etc? Cheers!
Haptic Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 I've had a quote back from a supplier with an Acer Veriton L410 PC, all-in-one stand and 17" monitor suggested as a cheaper alternative to a Dell USFF PC. Does anyone have any comments on this model or ones like it? Build quality, reliability, etc? Cheers! As a Acer Channel Partner I'm supposed to say there great which for home use I believe they are, not quite sure for a educational establishment as we had some problems with Acer recently when we sold 100 units to a school and the power supplies were so underpowered that if a usb device was plugged in the system would not get past the splash screen and when we told Acer at first they didnt particulary care until we reminded them that we are a sponsor of a lets say very important ICT forum and they would recieve bad press, now they are going out to the school and replacing all the power supplies to rectify the problem, Acer need to come along way to get trust in educational thats my opinion as a IT hardware supplier, Hope that helps
FN-GM Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 After bad experiences with acer at both of my schools i cannot recomend the desktops. They tend to be a low build quality and cheapest parts used
cheredenine Posted December 9, 2008 Author Posted December 9, 2008 Ahhh... Okay - explains why they were cheaper than, i guess! Thanks for the feedback - very useful.
