MOSS 2007 and Shared Documents

I'd like to setup several shared folders for all authenticated users with permissions to allow teachers parents and pupils to have access to different folders within the document library however when I change permissions on one folder it seems to do the same for all folders any ideas guys?

When setting the permissions on the folder you need to select "copy permissions" which sets the current permission and stops inheritance.

 

I assume you're doing it from viewing the folder and not on the user groups?
