Any online testing for Science?

Does anybody know of any software for testing science students that is hosted onsite? We have heinemann KS3 testing software from years ago, which is still used and is good, but we only have year's 8 & 9, and because they no longer sell it we cannot buy year 7 . They only sell their new version which they host not us, and then you pay a subscription. We do not want "hosted" versions of this, and i'm struggling to find an alternative which we can install on our own servers.

 

Anybody use any?

We have been known to re-write exam papers using the moodle quiz module.

A bit more work than buying in a solution, I'm surprised none of the educational software providers haven't jumped on the bandwagon - there is a gap in the market
