Hi, i've used smoothwall for some time yesterday i moved it onto a different box, i've always wondered if there is any way of checking that machines temps..

 

If anyone knows how to please post below..

I'd go with a simple LED with a temp sensor... Not sure that there's anything in smoothie that handles temps... SMART yes, temp??

I'd guess you could install sensorsd on the box and then through sensors-detect create a config file for it and move forward from there.

I am not aware of any add-on that does this - last I looked the lm_sensors tools were just too flakey to trust on your firewall! There are userspace tools out there though, some of which may run up OK on smoothie. I know we have added (some) SMART disk reporting to the commercial editions which *can* give drive temperatures, but does not always seem to.

 

Will ask the devs if they can recommend anything.
